Trainee Support Team - Central

Chauntelle Brown - Learning Support Advisor

Hawkes Bay

I have been working in the sport and recreation industry for about seven years in different roles including administration, coordination, event organising, but more recently in the education team space.

Originally I'm from a small town called Wairoa - don't blink you might pass it on your way through to Gisborne - but I have lived in Napier for over 20 years.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and love climbing hills and walking. I am heavily involved with my twin girls' netball sporting passion, and have coached their team from time to time.

I am very passionate about education, whether it be school or adult. My focus is to ensure I make a difference in this industry and encourage people to reach their full potential through education.

As part of a New Zealand Defence Force initiative my role is to help NZDF people gain Skills Active qualifications for the work that they do on a day-to-day basis. Consequently I'm hoping to put my background in Outdoor Recreation and tertiary education to good use.

Based in the Manawatu, I most enjoy spending time with Whanau and heading to the bush or to the sea.

Angie Gooch - Learning Support Advisor

Angie joined Skills Active in September 2016. She comes from an event management and instructional background in the outdoors and community recreation industries.

Angie loves the interpersonal side of her work, and has had the privilege of meeting and working with many amazing people through her various roles in local and regional authorities, private enterprise, corporate and community facilitation and development.

Angie is a furniture maker, Brazilian drum maker, house renovator/handy-person and general #8 kiwi engineer, who wishes there were more hours in the day to create awesome stuff, including some pretty funky steampunk walking canes. She can often be found drumming with the infamous Wellington Batucada. Otherwise Angie loves hanging with her family.
