National Certificate in Recreation and Sport Level 4

 

Who is this qualification for?

 

This qualification is for people who design and run programmes, events or community initiatives in recreation and sport-related organisations. It covers:

  • Managing projects
  • Facilitating or delivering recreation or sport-related programmes, events and activities
  • Providing leadership and guidance.

This qualification will take up to 9 months to complete.

What’s involved?

This qualification has a compulsory module and a range of elective options. The compulsory module focuses on best practice in project management, team leadership and writing proposals. The elective options focus on:

  • Managing events
  • Recreation planning and programming
  • Community development
  • Volunteer management
  • Dealing with conflict
  • Trends and issues in NZ recreation.

When you sign up for this qualification you will be assigned a mentor who can help you to:

  • Decide on the elective modules that best match your experience and interests
  • Explore what evidence you need to put together for your assessment portfolio
  • Think about any extra learning you may need.

Cost for qualification enrolment and resources - Refer to the fee schedule. This cost includes learning and assessment resources, registration of achievement, Learning Support Advisor contact visits. There may be additional costs if external training and assessment are required.
