Qualifications approved for listing on the NZQF
In October 2016 NZQA approved the Snowsport Equipment qualifications for listing on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).

Unit standard consultation
Consultation was held November-December 2016 on unit standards developed to align with the Snowsport Equipment (Levels 3 and 4) qualifications.
The seven Level 3 unit standards cover the foundation skills and knowledge required to work within snowsport equipment roles with either services or workshops.
The seven Level 4 unit standards cover the specialist skills and knowledge required to work as a workshop technician or bootfiter within a snowsport equipment operation.

Stage 2 consultation
Consultation on the proposed Snowsport Equipment qualifications has now closed. Consultation was held 10-25 November 2015.
These qualifications are designed for those who work as workshop technicians or bootfitters, or within a rental department within the snowsport industry.
