The price for the award is $65.00 per lifeguard (including GST). The price covers the following:
- $52.90 processing and NZQA fees (recording achieved unit standards on a trainee’s Record of Achievement and updating the lifeguard register)
- $20.00 NZRA training manual cost. This contribution goes directly to NZRA to cover training resource development and printing
- The difference of $7.90 is being subsidised by Skills Active. We have also absorbed the development, printing and distribution costs of the resources.
- Training and Assessment resources, all in one pack
- Reporting of achieved results to NZQA
- Recorded completion of the qualification and registration on the lifeguard register
- NPLA Certificate
All lifeguards are required to have their NPLA revalidated every two years to ensure they are still current with industry standards. The cost for a revalidation is $10 (including GST) per lifeguard.
