Getting into the outdoors with other people can be incredibly rewarding.The interaction you have with your participants is crucial in achieving safe and positive outdoor experiences, and is one of the main reasons this award was created.

The National Award in Outdoor Activity Supervision acknowledges that you have the skills and knowledge to supervise an outdoor activity in a relatively low-risk environment. Although not
assessed in this award, it is beneficial to have some technical skills in an outdoor pursuit, which would complement and add to the value of this qualification.This award provides the foundation knowledge and skills required in all outdoor recreationleadership, and thus provides a springboard for those wishing to gain higher level qualifications.
