Find your qualification

Our job is to partner with employers, businesses and industry organisations to set the skill standards and develop New Zealand’s qualifications for people who work in the sport and community recreation, exercise, performing arts, snowsport, dive and outdoor recreation industries. We know that the best place for you to pick these skills up is on the job. Have a look through our qualifications and see where they can take you!

All of our qualifications are listed on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework. While some of our qualifications can be done in a classroom setting, most are hands-on and designed to be achieved by people while they’re working.

This means that on top of gaining fresh knowledge and practical skills while you’re doing your job, you can receive a nationally-recognised qualification when you complete your training. How good is that?!

The beauty of our active industries is that sport, recreation and performing arts workplaces are all ideal places to complete on-job qualifications!

All of our industries have a wide range of exciting, practical qualifications and apprenticeships to choose from. Explore your options, and choose the best qualifications to suit you and your career goals. Your employer and a Skills Active learning support advisor can help you decide which qualification would suit you best.
