The Training Excellence Awards mark the achievements of individuals and organisations in the local government sector who have shown dedication to the pursuit of knowledge and skill through training.
This award celebrates local government organisations and staff who are achieving at a high level through their commitment to training and upskilling.
The Māhaki Award recognises individuals, and the Manaakitanga Award recognises workplaces.
The award is open to council organisations and individuals who are engaged with Skills Active.
The award winners receive a $500 grant to contribute to ongoing learning and development for themselves, or their organisations.

Nominations should include a paragraph about the candidate and any relevant background, how they meet the eligibility criteria, and why they should be considered for the award.
