Emerging exercise professional on his way with Skills Active scholarship
February 17, 2020
Fitness fanatic and former head boy Braidon Fletcher is the recipient of the Skills Active Exercise Scholarship.
Braidon has won a scholarship to enrol in the New Zealand Certificate in Exercise (Level 4), which is designed to be completed by trainees who are employed in fitness industry workplaces. He was presented with his scholarship by learning support advisor Tam Hickey, and industry engagement advisor Nathan Waitai, pictured above.
Braidon was head boy of Birkenhead College, and when he finished school he spent time in the United States, attending a community college and coaching soccer for kids aged 5 to 12 years.
Now he is keen to build a career in exercise. He is equally passionate about sport and fitness, with interests ranging from yoga, food and nutrition, through to the mental dynamics of sport and exercise.
“Exercise has always been an outlet for me in expressing myself, and I feel happiest when I am playing sports or in an exercise facility,” Braidon says.
He will complete his qualification with the support of his employer, KC Fit in Auckland.
As with previous Exercise Scholarship winner Briana Herlihy, Skills Active will follow Braidon’s progress in his qualification – watch this space to find out how he gets on.
