People working in this area have a genuine interest in understanding how an aquatic facility functions. They have a high level of attention to detail, and the knowledge and communication skills to keep pool operations running smoothly.
Graduates of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to work unsupervised in aquatic environments in water quality testing and treatment roles.
Monitor aquatic treatment systems, plant and equipment and interpret water quality and testing information to ensure the safety of personnel and participants in aquatic environments.
Operate plant and equipment to respond to water quality issues and situations and to implement corrective procedures.
Implement a maintenance plan for aquatic treatment systems to meet compliance and organisational requirements.
Review pool risk management plans to identify trends over time, recognise influences on water quality and identify ways to improve the performance of an aquatic treatment system.
Work with internal and external customers to communicate water quality testing results and to record and report on improvements.
