Who is this qualification for?   

This qualification is for educators and trainers in working in the sport and recreation industry, who want to step up into a leadership and/or specialist assessment role. 

Advanced assessment practitioners are senior experts in their field. They stay current with both industry and assessment knowledge and trends. They apply the principles and practices of assessment to critically evaluate methodologies, and offer guidance and direction to other assessors.

This qualification will be delivered and assessed on-the-job in a workplace within the sport and recreation industry.

Graduates who complete this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to design and use a range of innovative and complex assessment methods, in different learning contexts.

What's involved?

This 60-credit qualification covers:

Critically evaluating current and emerging assessment practices and frameworks for application in an education or training context

Designing, using and evaluating a range of innovative and complex assessment methods for different learning contexts

Negotiating and collaborating with learners and other participants/stakeholders to achieve quality assessment outcomes

Mentoring or coaching other practitioners to enhance their knowledge and use of assessment in their practice.

This programme is designed to take 8-12 months to complete.

On-job training costs workplaces both time and resources. It can mean covering registration fees, learning and assessment resources, allocating time for training, and having an appropriate assessment pathway available.  

Total costs for trainees will vary depending on how the qualification is delivered, how it is assessed and how much support the workplace can provide.
