Who is this qualification for?   

This qualification is for individuals starting out in their adult and tertiary teaching career. Adult and tertiary teachers are great listeners, clear communicators, and big believers in the potential of others.

They help learners get their heads around the material. They have clear objectives for their teaching and they use assessment and moderation processes to ensure quality outcomes for their students.

This qualification will be delivered and assessed on-the-job in a workplace within the sport and recreation industry.

Graduates will come out qualified to deliver education or training in a workplace as part of their role, or in the community as a volunteer.

What's involved?

This 40-credit qualification covers:

Designing learning to meet specified learning outcomes 

Using learner-centred teaching strategies that respect learners' mana and diverse backgrounds

Selecting and applying teaching and learning strategies, using resources and technologies to meet specific outcomes

Using assessment and moderation processes

Seeking and responding to feedback from learners and other stakeholders to improve learner outcomes.

This qualification take 6-10 months to complete.

What are the costs?   

On-job training costs workplaces both time and resources. It can mean covering registration fees, learning and assessment resources, allocating time for training, and having an appropriate assessment pathway available.  

Total costs for trainees will vary depending on how the qualification is delivered, how it is assessed and how much support the workplace can provide.
