This qualification is for people in supervisory roles within sport and recreation workplaces, who want to up their management game.
First line managers are confident, capable and encouraging, and they have a passion for helping staff to achieve and shine. They can think on their feet, and use their keen decision-making and problem-solving skills to spur their team on in tackling big goals.
This full-service qualification is delivered and assessed completely online, making it suitable for a wide range of trainees, no matter the size of their organisation or where they are located.
The programme will be run using a cohort system. Trainees will be placed within a cohort of their peers, so they can progress through the training together. These online-based groups will be supported by a dedicated facilitator.
Through completing this qualification, managers will deepen their management skill set, and come out equipped to manage highly effective teams that ace organisational goals - in both bi-cultural and multicultural environments.
Managing work flows in an operational context to achieve team objectives
Assessing against agreed criteria and responding appropriately to achieve operational objectives
Motivating a team to achieve team objectives and contribute to organisational objectives
Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders
Managing relationships within a team
Promoting an inclusive environment
Demonstrating professional and ethical behaviour, in a socially and culturally appropriate manner
Adapting leadership styles for effectiveness in different environments
Complying with internal policies, legislation and other external requirements.
The programme is made up of the following unit standards:
Unit standard 29039 | Manage a team to contribute to a business entity's objectives | Level 4 | 35 credits
Unit standard 29040 | Manage work flows | Level 4 | 25 credits
