We are currently developing a suite of Dive qualifications, which includes:
New Zealand Certificate in Diving (Foundation) (Level 3) (40-50 credits)
New Zealand Certificate in Diving (Supervision) with strands in Dive Vessel Operations, Dive Plant Operator and Service Technician, and Dive Sales and Merchandising (Level 4) (80 credits)
New Zealand Diploma in Diving (Level 5) (120 credits)
New Zealand Certificate in Diving (Instruction) (Level 5) (50 credits)
These qualifications are developed by Skills Active, but are designed to be completed off-job through a tertiary education provider.
This pathway of qualifications provides a framework for the learner to progress from gaining competence for their own dive activities, all the way through to operating as a multi-skilled dive instructor able to instruct, assess and award certifications, as well as manage dive retail and training operations.
Competence for own dive activities, whether for recreation or employment purposes (Level 3).
Supervising dive operations within either recreational or aquaculture settings (Level 4).
Operating as a dive instructor and instructing, assessing and awarding a range of Dive Training organisation certifications (Level 5 certificate).
Operating as a multi-skilled dive instructor and operating the retail and training operations of a dive facility (Level 5 Diploma).
Fees vary depending on which provider you choose to do this qualification through.
