This qualification is for people who work as snowgroomers.
Snowgroomers enjoy the satisfying experience of carving fresh powder into perfectly groomed trails at a snowsport area. Preparing and maintaining these trails, snowgroomers play a huge part in ensuring skiiers and snowboarders have a smooth ride down the slopes.
This qualification will be delivered and assessed on-the-job in a snowsport area.
Graduates of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge required to operate a snowgroomer to produce and maintain a consistent and quality surface in New Zealand's snowsport areas.

Health and safety and hazard management
Understanding of weather, terrain, and the nature of the snowpack in relation to the operation of the machine and grooming requirements.
On-job training costs workplaces both time and resources. It can mean covering registration fees, learning and assessment resources, allocating time for training, and having an appropriate assessment pathway available.
Total costs for trainees will vary depending on how the qualification is delivered, how it is assessed and how much support the workplace can provide.
