This qualification is for people who want to become a qualified cycle skills instructor.
Cycle skills instructors are strong leaders, who are confident and responsible. They have the knowledge and enthusiasm to deliver safe and exciting cycle skills sessions that make people want to ride.
This qualification will be delivered and assessed on-the-job at a sport and recreation workplace.
Coming out of this qualification, a cycle skills instructor will have the knowledge and skills required to deliver safe and effective cycle skills education to a diverse range of groups.
Risk management and identifying hazards
Knowledge of road traffic environments
Instructing cycle skills in group situations
Designing, running and evaluating session plans.
On-job training costs workplaces both time and resources. It can mean covering registration fees, learning and assessment resources, allocating time for training, and having an appropriate assessment pathway available.
Total costs for trainees will vary depending on how the qualification is delivered, how it is assessed and how much support the workplace can provide.
