The Supreme Award for Outdoor Recreation recognises an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the outdoor recreation and education sector.
This award celebrates individuals working in outdoor recreation whose efforts have markedly improved experiences for participants in New Zealand.
The judges are looking for candidates who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the outdoor recreation, education and adventure sector, leading to a significant and sustained contribution to outdoor education and adventure recreation in New Zealand.
Judging criteria include:
Evidence of leadership and /or mentoring roles undertaken both paid and unpaid
Length of involvement in the sector
Contribution to significant initiatives, programmes and /or events in the outdoor recreation, education and adventure tourism sectors
Perceived mana in the sector.
